Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney has already landed her next gig and you’re going to want to hear all about it!

Deadline reports that Sweeney, along with Grammy Award-nominated musician Halsey, will star alongside each other in The Players Table, a riveting drama series coming to HBO Max.

An official release date has not been released nor has a trailer starring the two celebrities, but we, thankfully, do know a thing or two about what you can expect.

Read on to learn everything there is to know so far about HBO Max’s The Players Table.

The Players Table synopsis

Based on Jessica Goodman’s 2020 novel, They Wish They Were UsThe Players Table tells a story of two women desperately trying to piece together the sudden death of a fellow friend. Although solving a murder case is difficult enough as is, these women have even more work cut out for them, as their small town is full of individuals who are expert liars and top-notch deceivers. Not to mention the fact that their community also considers them foolish outcasts who don’t deserve a listening ear.

With all their circumstances in mind, how will these two seek justice? More importantly, what trials and tribulations lie ahead for them for poking their noses around where their society believes they probably shouldn’t?

See more of the official synopsis via Deadline below:

"In The Players Table, the truth may as well be arbitrary in a world where no one says what they mean. In the affluent town of Gold Coast, Long Island — a community sustained by lies, complicity, and absolute moral decay — two young women (Sweeney and Halsey) come of age as they unravel the mystery of a classmates’ murder. But in order to understand what happened to their friend, they must first confront what’s happened to them."

Annabelle Attanasio, the lead writer of The Players Table, also gave us a snippet of what we can expect from this series.

“This show is about what happens when young women aren’t taken seriously,” Attanasio expressed. “It is about wanting to belong to something so badly you could die, and then realizing you actually want to break it into a million pieces.”

As the series is currently in development by HBO Max (and co-produced by Endeavor Content), it looks like we’ll have to stay tuned to learn more updates about the series. But by the sounds of it so far, HBO Max may very well have yet another hit on its hands. We can’t wait!
