Since American Idol was brought back to life on ABC, following its cancellation on Fox, those on the judges’ seats have been consistent. Celebrities Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan have been on the Idol journey since its revival.

The network has renewed the competition series, which means another shot for aspiring singers to achieve their musical dreams! ABC announced its midseason schedule, with season 21 coming Sunday, Feb. 19. Throughout the past five seasons, the judges have chosen and guided Idol hopefuls. So will we see this trio back again next year?

Will the same judges be back for American Idol season 21?

Good news! All three judges – Perry, Richie, and Bryan – will be back for American Idol season 21! The trio has been on the panel for five years now, and have chosen to return for another season. It’s obvious how well this threesome works together, so it isn’t very surprising to hear this awesome news.

Where does that leave emcee Ryan Seacrest? It’s been confirmed that the leading man will also take up his duties once again, hosting the singing series for the 21st year! So all those familiar faces will be back next year. That’s the news we’ve been waiting to hear!

The network announced the show’s renewal back in May, but didn’t confirm whether the judges and Seacrest would be back. However this was normal as the judges and host start discussing contract renewals in the summer. And that’s exactly what happened!

Season 21 auditions kick off Wednesday, Aug. 3 with “Idol Across America,” the live virtual nationwide search for the next singing sensation. For more information on how to audition, you can check out the American Idol website.

If you’re not caught up, you can watch American Idol season 20 online on ABC or Hulu.
