What is dark comedy Bad Sisters on Apple TV+ about?

Apple TV+‘s new summer additions just keep coming! The latest in the streaming service’s catalog to be announced is upcoming murder mystery series, Bad Sisters.

The dark comedy was created, co-written, and executive produced by leading lady, actress Sharon Horgan. In addition to the Irish star, Anne-Marie Duff, Eva Birthistle, Sarah Greene, and Eve Hewson join her onscreen as the Garvey sisters.

Actors Claes Bang, Brian Gleeson, Daryl McCormack, Assaad Bouab, and Saise Quinn round out the ensemble cast. The new project is also produced by Horgan’s production company, Merman.

Bad Sisters Apple TV+ release date

The 10-episode series debuts Friday, Aug. 19 with the first two episodes on Apple TV+. They will then be followed by one episode weekly until the finale on Oct. 14.

What is Bad Sisters on Apple TV+ about?

The story follows the tight-knit Garvey sisters who have always looked out for each other. The five are bound together by the premature death of their parents. When their brother-in-law winds up dead, his life insurers launch an investigation trying to prove malicious intent. The sisters are their number one suspects, all of whom had reason to kill him. Based on the official trailer, we get a hint as to why it may have been the sisters who did it.

The almost two and a half minute trailer reveals that the brother-in-law is an abusive husband to one of the Garvey sisters. The other four have had enough of watching their sister being treated so badly, so it seems like they plot a way to get rid of him for good. And they want to make sure their sister never knows it was them behind her husband’s murder. But will she find out the truth, and will the sisters be discovered? We’ll have to wait and see!
