Black Bird season finale: When is the last episode?

Fridays mean it’s time for another episode of Apple TV+’s new psychological thriller, Black Bird! The series premiered on July 8, and is already garnering great reviews.

At the time of this writing, Rotten Tomatoes gave the show a score of 98% based on 59 reviews, and it’s rated at a 97% audience score based on 36 reviews. Many viewers enjoy stories that are based on true events, and Black Bird is one of them.

The limited series is an adaptation of the true crime memoir, In with the Devil: A Fallen Hero, a Serial Killer, and a Dangerous Bargain for Redemption by authors James Keene and Hillel Levin. Keene serves as one of the executive producers on the crime drama.

As of this writing, we’re already halfway through the season. The first two episodes of Black Bird premiered on Friday, July 8. After that, one new episode is released weekly. So today, July 15, marked the release of episode 3, “Hand to Mouth.”

The season finale is set for Friday, Aug. 5.

Black Bird introduces us to Jimmy Keene, a former star athlete who is now a wealthy drug dealer. He’s living a fancy life until the FBI is at his door, seizing drugs, cash, and weapons. He’s sentenced to 10 years in a minimum security prison.

While there, he’s given the option to lessen his sentence if he agrees to be transferred to a maximum security prison to befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall. Officials are hoping to get a confession out of Hall to find out where the bodies of several young girls are buried before his appeal goes through. But can the words of the suspected killer be trusted?

Black Bird releases new episodes Fridays on Apple TV+. The season finale drops on Aug. 5.
