If you didn’t watch The White Lotus (you can stream the first season on HBO Max), you missed out on one of the best shows of 2021! The satirical comedy-drama features a talented cast, each one takes on a colorful character that comes with so much to unpack. You’ll be surprised, happy, angry, and just have all of the feelings! Now, when it was first announced, The White Lotus was promoted and intended to be a limited series (meaning a one-season series), but it did so well in ratings and fans loved it so much, that HBO decided to renew it for a second season.

Variety has come to the rescue with a release date! Well, at least a good idea of when to expect the upcoming season. Are you ready to check back into the popular hotel? The first season is up for 20 Primetime Emmy Awards, which take place on Sept. 12. Then, as Variety has exclusively learned, season 2 will drop in October. There’s no specific date announced just yet, but we at least know that it’ll be here in a couple of short months.

We are super excited about the cast in this upcoming season. For starters, we’ll have season 1 fan-favorite Jennifer Coolidge back! She’s a true season 1 standout so we know she’ll help make this second season amazing. New members joining include: Aubrey Plaza, Michael Imperioli, F. Murray Abraham, Tom Hollander, Haley Lu Richardson, Adam DiMarco, and others.

Details about the characters they’ll play aren’t fully known, but TV Insider does share that Plaza will play Harper Spiller, “a woman who is vacationing with her husband and his friends.” The source also reports that Abraham will play Bert Di Grasso, “an elderly man traveling with his son Dominic (Imperioli) and his college graduate grandson Albie (DiMarco).”
