Everyone’s favorite dance competition series, Dancing with the Stars, is coming back this fall, and it’s brining with it a few changes! The new season will waltz its way here on Monday, Sept. 19.

The reality show, which has run on ABC for 16 years, has such a unique concept. We always like to see our favorite celebrities outside of what they usually do. And dancing is such a fun way to do it! Though there’s the appearances on game shows like Wheel of Fortune and Celebrity Family Feud, there’s nothing like seeing your fave put on their dance shoes and glide across the ballroom.

Though it’s been a staple on the network all of these years, there’s a number of changes coming for the upcoming DWTS season 31. And that includes where it will air – or rather stream.

Dancing with the Stars moving to Disney+

Back in April, ABC announced the surprising news that the new season of the dance competition series would be moving to a new home. This fall, DWTS season 31 will make its debut on streaming service Disney+ instead.

The live, weekly schedule that we’re used to will remain the same. This will be the first time the streamer tests this kind of format. It will be very interesting to see how they will make it work.

DWTS season 31 hosts

There had been a rumor that Tyra Banks wouldn’t be coming back for hosting duties once again, as she’s not really a popular choice with the fans. However, she is taking on that responsibility in season 31. Though this time she has a fellow emcee.

New host Alfonso Ribeiro will co-host alongside Banks. The actor and television personality is a great choice, and he’s already proven how fun and engaging he is as host of America’s Funniest Home Videos.

DWTS season 31 commercials

With its move to Disney+ also comes the fact that viewers won’t have to sit through commercials anymore. TVLine shared that the reality series won’t have any ads this season. This is always good news for the audience, but it is surprising since the commercial breaks allowed for costume changes and set breakdowns during performances, as noted by the news outlet.

DWTS season 31 judges and cast

Thankfully the judges table isn’t getting a shake up! Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough will all be back.

But of course there’s going to be a new cast of celebs, and possibly pros? We won’t know until they’re all announced on Sept. 8, according to TVLine!
