Courteney Cox pokes fun at Kanye West after he disses Friends with video response

It’s been nearly 20 years since the final episode of Friends aired, but insults towards the show seemingly still get to star Courteney Cox. Especially when they come from a very famous celebrity with a huge platform. Case in point: The Monica Geller actor playfully hit back at Kanye West after he suggested the NBC sitcom was not funny.

As reported by People Magazine, a false tweet which made it look like West was dissing Friends made its rounds on the internet a few years back, and in a more recent post, the rapper finally weighed in. Anyone who keeps up to date with West online knows that he goes on social media rants from time to time, calling out different celebs and people in his life. He’s famously targeted his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson, and many would say West took things too far numerous times.

For one of his latest Instagram posts, he wrote in a lengthy caption: “I actually didn’t write the [tweet] that said ‘Friends wasn’t funny either’ but wish I had.” The post has since been deleted, but Cox took a screenshot of it and didn’t hesitate to share her response with the world.

Courteney Cox reacts to Kanye West’s Friends comment

Taking to her Instagram account, Cox poked fun at the situation by acting shocked at the post, reading it and zooming into the part where West references the fake Friends tweet. She plays the song “Heartless” by West in the background, and jokingly throws her phone on the counter once she reads the caption.

In her own caption, Cox writes: “I bet the old Kayne thought Friends was funny.” Watch the video below:

It didn’t take long for Cox’s comments section to blow up, with fans finding it hard to believe anyone could think Friends isn’t funny. Some of the actress’ famous friends also weighed in, laughing at the post.

Of course, Cox is just playing around here, but it makes us wonder if this is a celebrity feud in the making. We’ll see if West responds or not!
