Bold fans, I told you Liam should be worried about Hope’s behavior when it comes to Thomas and today’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful confirmed it. We’ve moved beyond her defending her son’s father to her playing house with him over at the Forrester Mansion.

I don’t know about you, but I was shocked when Liam confessed to Brooke that Hope’s been spending the night, with Beth in tow, at Thomas’ abode. Sure, Eric, Donna, and Zende are there, too, but the point still stands that she has no business having sleepovers under the guise of giving Beth an opportunity to see her brother.

But, of course, instead of that being a 5-alarm fire level of a warning that it’s Hope that they should be concerned about, it’s only made Liam more suspicious of Thomas. We don’t know what Brooke’s youngest daughter is playing at but this crush of hers is about to cause all types of drama.

Here’s what happened today.

The Bold and the Beautiful recap (Oct. 5)

Hope has either been ignoring Liam’s texts or somehow not getting them because while he was sitting talking to Brooke and trying to get in touch with his wife, she was busy hanging out with Thomas in the office. Liam has been under the impression that she’s in a meeting, but the only thing she was busy doing was assuring Thomas that she believes in him.

She even told Thomas that he could have called her when CPS came, and she would have been there to back him up about the safe environment he’s created at the mansion for their son. Her comment took Thomas by surprise and it was obvious that the sentiment she expressed meant a lot to him.

What wasn’t surprising was that he extended the same offer. He’d come to bat for her in a heartbeat if she needed him to which is something Hope definitely knows. We’ve only spent the past few years hearing him talk about his love for her and how far he’d go for her. But, nevertheless, she appreciated what he said as well.

As the episode progressed, the two spent most of their time discussing Douglas and Hope’s shifting perspective on where he should be living. While she misses her son, she does understand that living with his father is what he needs right now. The reason Douglas hasn’t gone home to the cabin is that he keeps asking to stay at the mansion.

After texting Liam that she plans to go see Douglas, she asked Thomas if it was okay she stop by. Once again, he assured her that she’s welcome anytime at his home which, given what Liam reveals after this scene, Thomas really does mean any time.

I guess his house is her house at this point. Just like her line is now their line. Hope’s use of “our” when discussing Hope for the Future could be semantics, but I doubt it. Even though Zende is the third part of this collaboration, it was clear in the moment that she feels like she and Thomas are partners. However, their dynamic is definitely starting to move away from platonic toward romantic.

Hope has a crush on her son’s father. It was apparent last episode when she couldn’t quite look away as he changed his shirt. And, it was obvious when the two were standing needlessly close to each other while looking at one of Thomas’ designs.

When she suggested the dress be altered to include a high slit, their fingers brushed when they reached for the pencil at the same time. Then she stumbled away from him when they momentarily got caught in each other’s eyes. Somewhat flustered, she decided to go on to the mansion. Thomas said he’d meet her there later and Hope said she was looking forward to it.

Before she exited the office, Hope took a moment to stare at Thomas as his back was turned. Given what was shown today, Liam finally telling Brooke that Hope’s been spending the night at the mansion added even more support to the idea that a new romantic triangle is about to set sail on The Bold and the Beautiful.

He told Brooke he didn’t tell her because he didn’t want to worry her considering everything else she’s got going on, but now that the cat’s out the bag, I do wonder what this means for Lope. This is a significant shift in their relationship and it’s doubtful Liam can hold tight to the idea that this is all Thomas’ doing for too long.

As Hope explained to her mother, the idea that her son’s father is manipulating her into making decisions that benefit him makes her look like someone who doesn’t know her own mind or make her own choices. So, at some point, Brooke and Liam are going to have to acknowledge that this living arrangement and how she’s responding to it, is on Hope and no one else.

Speaking of significant shifts in relationships, as much as Brooke is concerned about Hope, she really needs to be concerned about her marriage. Taylor ran away to Aspen, but Ridge followed her which is something his wife doesn’t know about. She’s chatting with Liam about the romantic night she has planned while this man has hopped a plane to go meet his ex-wife, best friend, and soulmate. Embarrassing!

However, just because Ridge is expecting a wonderful reunion doesn’t mean he’s about to get one. Taylor spent the episode lamenting to Steffy that she’s tired of waiting on him. She also doesn’t want Ridge to come back to her because Brooke messed up again or he’s mad at her. It always ends with her heart getting broken and him returning to the Logan’s side.

Taylor asserted that she wants to be his first choice because that’s what he’s always been to her. Steffy tried to get her mom to hold the door open and take this time in Aspen to revitalize herself so she can stay in the fight, but Taylor refused. She asked her daughter to stop asking her to hold onto this dream that’s never going to happen because she needs and wants to move on.

In a brief interlude that subtly confirmed Ridge was on his way to Aspen, Steffy called Thomas to check-in. They didn’t discuss the CPS call, so it’s left me wondering if this might go the way of other seemingly important events that happened on the soap that only certain characters know like Liam tearing up the annulment papers and staying married to Steffy when he told Hope he’d get her to sign them while he was in Aspen.

In any case, the episode ended with Taylor in a beautiful setting with a brook running beside her and Ridge calling her name. Ever a confident man, he strolled up to Taylor like her heart hasn’t been run through a meat grinder because of him. Here’s hoping she gives him a piece of her mind before the two potentially fall into each other’s arms.

Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
