The holidays got off to a rough start on All American season 5 and it’s only down hill from here with Spencer and Olivia. The season opener, “Ludacrismas,” saw the two at odds due to Olivia’s investigation into Spencer’s coach, Garrett. The situation didn’t improve by the end of the premiere and with broken hearts, the two will be starting the new semester and year apart.
That’s a blow for Spelivia fans who’ve wanted to see their favorite pair weater this storm, but there’s still hope. Though Spencer was willing to walk away from Olivia so she could grow in journalism without having to worry about him or stifle her own journey, she told him this isn’t the end of their romance.
We’re in for quite a bit of angst with these two until they reunite, but the biggest non-romantic bombshell of the premiere was that Coach Garrett is using his players to target specific members of the teams they’re opposing on the football field in order to win games. If Olivia and Billy can prove he’s using a tactic that’s career ending for these players, the whole program at Golden Angeles could be dissolved.
They’ll have to tread lightly and accurately in their information gathering because this is the type of story that could ruin lives. Here are details on episode 2 of the season!

“Don’t Sweat the Technique” premieres Monday, Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. If you miss the episode, next day streaming is available on cwtv.com and the CW App. Though All American is on Netflix, it’s only available to US subscribers. Season 5 will start streaming on the platform in 2023. We’ll keep you posted on its Netflix release date.

"With Spencer’s life hitting a rocky point, he takes some advice from JJ and Coop to embrace college life. Olivia and Billy’s suspicions about Coach Garrett resurface and cause tension between them and Jordan. Layla makes a power play that catches an unsuspecting Patience off-guard. Meanwhile, Asher struggles with trying to be JJ’s coach and maintaining their friendship."
