Stargirl is cancelled after three seasons. The Season 3 finale is now going to be the series finale. When will that episode air on The CW?

We’ve had some disappointing, although not all too surprising, news. TVLine confirms that Stargirl Season 3 is going to be the last.

While the series has been cancelled, it sounds like Geoff Johns had an idea that this would happen. He says that the series is complete creatively, which should mean that we’ll be satisfied with the ending. It may not wrap up every single storyline, but there shouldn’t be too much of a major cliffhanger.

When will the Stargirl series finale air on The CW?

Now eyes are on when the final episode is going to air. Just how many episodes do we have left to see Courtney and her friends in action? Well, there are still a few episodes to go.

The Stargirl Season 3 finale was already set for Wednesday, Dec. 7. There’s no sign that this is going to change despite the cancellation coming in. This suggests that, unlike Legacies, the show doesn’t need time to write and film a series finale that fits for the fans—or maybe The CW isn’t giving the DC series that sort of chance.

There is likely going to be a Wednesday off for Thanksgiving. That’s pretty standard for the broadcast networks as the live ratings take a big hit. There are 13 episodes to the season, just like the first two seasons, so a one-week break is necessary.

Could the series be saved by a streaming platform? Never say “never,” but it is unlikely. The series was originally a DC Universe series as well as a CW one, but then DC Universe dropped the show after one season and The CW took it on alone. DC Universe content has since moved to HBO Max, and it doesn’t look like HBO Max is thinking about taking up the DC series. The CWverse really is coming to an end.
