Matthew Perry recalls losing his virginity and the ‘great ugly secret’ he kept with him

Another day, another excerpt from Matthew Perry’s new memoir causing buzz across the internet. The 53-year-old actor, who’s best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the beloved sitcom Friends, just released his tell-all book, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing. It had been reported that Perry would be holding nothing back so he could share his side of the story, and that’s proven to be true.

In his memoir, Perry talks about his years-long struggle with addiction, becoming a household name due to Friends, and his many romances with fellow celebrities. People are shocked by how much of his personal life he’s divulging, while others are happy he’s being so vulnerable.

In one particular part of his book, as reported by the New York Post, Perry reveals how his alcohol abuse led to impotence. While he was still living in Canada, he was unable to perform with a woman because he was too drunk. And this was a pattern that apparently kept happening.

According to Perry, he “was walking around the planet thinking sex was something for other people,” adding that his inability to perform was his “great ugly secret.”

When Perry started dating actress Tricia Fisher, however, who happens to be the half-sister of the late Carrie Fisher, the actor was finally able to have sex. But it wasn’t without complications. He recalls:

"“Nothing worked; nothing. Horrified yet again, I forsook the loving arms of Tricia Fisher and padded my slim, naked body over to a chair in the apartment. I sat there, soft, and sad, my two hands cupped over my lap like a nun’s during Vespers, doing my best to cover my embarrassment and maybe a tear or two.”"

Fortunately for Perry, Fisher was willing to work with him and he was able to lose his virginity that night. He adds:

"“She walked over to me, took my hand, led me back to bed, laid me down, and sure enough … sheer glory, for two whole minutes!”"

As for Perry’s current love life,

the actor claimed
