SEAL Team just made a heartbreaking decision in Season 6. Bravo Team is down another team member for good, but who was it?

Caution: This post contains major spoilers for SEAL Team Season 6, Episode 8.

When SEAL Team Season 6 got started, we had concerns about one particular character. It was all about Clay Spencer. Knowing that Max Thieriot had landed the lead role in Fire Country, there were questions about how his schedules would work on the two shows. Would Clay Spencer be killed off at the start of the season to handle it?

Well, Clay did die…then. Instead, we got him for eight episodes until the end of that hour. And it was a devastating ending.

After figuring out what he wanted and this bright future for him and Stella, everything took a turn for the worse. Clay had managed to talk down Ben from breaking the rules at the vet center before taking his own life. Sadly, Clay was the one with the gun in his hands when the security guard found the two men. The security guard thought Clay was a threat and shot him.

Is Clay dead in SEAL Team?

But there’s a chance he can survive, right? Clay is like a cat with nine lives, and he hasn’t used them all up yet, has he? Well, this is where we have some devastating news.

Spencer Hudnut, the SEAL Team showrunner, has confirmed that Clay is dead. This is it for that journey, and now Stella’s greatest fear has come true. I’m sure the way it’s all played out is going to anger a lot of fans.

In the back of our minds, we knew Clay would have to be written out of the series in some way. Max Thieriot is a busy man, and Fire Country is performing well on CBS. It was always going to be difficult to manage both projects, and Spencer and Max had to agree that Max’s time on the military series had come to an end. It was not an easy decision to make, but one that had to be done.

Nobody wanted Max to leave the series. The logistics were just impossible. I’d have preferred it if Stella and Clay could have moved away, though. At least then they could have come back at some point.
