Actor Will Ferrell is no stranger to Christmas movies, as he headlined holiday staple Elf back in 2003! Now, the talented actor will be starring in a new Christmas-themed musical comedy film, Spirited. This is going to be a treat!

The production is a modern retelling of another classic tale, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Ferrell, who is one of the producers on the film, takes on the lead role of the Ghost of Christmas Present. Co-leading onscreen will be Ryan Reynolds who plays Scrooge Clint Briggs. Octavia Spencer, Sunita Mani, and Patrick Page also star in the movie.

Sean Anders directed, produced, and co-wrote the script with producer John Morris. Other producers on the production include George Dewey, Jessica Elbaum, and David Koplan. Diana Pokorny, Benj Pasek, and Justin Paul served as executive producers.

Spirited will be coming to the big screens first! The film will be available to watch in select theaters beginning Friday, Nov. 11. If you’re hoping to stream the movie, you won’t have to wait long! Be sure you have a subscription to Apple TV+ by Friday, Nov. 18 to stream the film online.

So what can you expect to see? For the first time, the infamous story is going to be told from the perspective of the ghosts, giving viewers a “sweet and spicy holiday treat,” Apple TV+ shares. And this year, Present will have to examine his own life.

The Ghost of Christmas Present (Ferrell) picks one dark soul each Christmas Eve to be reformed. But this season, Scrooge Cling Briggs (Reynolds) somehow manages to turn the tables. Present now has to reexamine his own past, present, and future, according to Apple TV+.

Spirited will be released in select cinemas starting Nov. 11 before streaming Friday, Nov. 18 on Apple TV+.
