It seems the CW isn’t finished culling its content. Prior to Nexstar taking majority ownership of the network, a slew of series were axed from the soap opera reboot Dynasty to the superhero ensemble drama Legends of Tomorrow.

The move was shocking to say the least as The CW had been the lone member of the Big 5 networks to renew nearly all its line-up from year-to-year or at least final season shows that they intended to end. More cancellations are expected as Nexstar pivots to cheaper content in a bid to offset the network’s costs and strive for profitability by 2025.

Under new leadership with Dennis Miller replacing Mark Pedowitz and Brad Schwartz stepping into the role of president of CW Entertainment, The CW is headed toward a new era at a pace that’s grown incredibly uncomfortable for longtime fans of the network’s shows.

Currently, The CW has cancelled 13 shows this year alone. Wondering if one of your favorites is on the cancellation list? Here’s which CW shows were cancelled in 2022.

The CW shows cancelled in 2022

  • Batwoman
  • Charmed
  • Dynasty
  • In the Dark
  • Legacies
  • Legend of the Hidden Temple
  • Legends of Tomorrow
  • Nancy Drew
  • Naomi

  • Stargirl
  • Tom Swift
  • 4400

Nancy Drew‘s cancellation will not affect the premiere of its fourth season which is scheduled to begin airing in 2023. Riverdale, The Flash, and Whose Line Is It Anyway? weren’t included on this list because their final seasons were announced ahead of filming on their respective farewell seasons. They’re also scheduled to premiere next year as well.

CW shows still on the bubble

Brad Schwartz told IndieWire that he has 14 slots to account for when it comes to primetime programming on The CW moving forward. He didn’t single out any one show as being renewed or cancelled as such all of the network’s remaining shows are considered on the bubble.

The CW’s remaining original series: All American, All American: Homecoming, Criss Angel’s Magic with the Stars, Gotham Knights, Kung Fu, Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Superman & Lois, Walker, Walker Independence, The Winchesters, and World’s Funniest Animals.
