Friends alum Jennifer Aniston is bitter about the way fame has evolved over the years and many people are displeased with her take. The 53-year-old celeb recently sat down with Allure Magazine for a tell-all interview where she talked about her experience with IVF, her relationship with Brad Pitt, and much more.

In one part of the story, interviewer Danielle Pergament shared something their journalist friend said about Aniston, which seemed to very much compliment her. It reads: “No one’s ever going to be famous the way she is. That kind of mass-fame phenomenon burning so bright for so long, it’s just not achievable today. She’s like a silent-film star among a generation of TikTok dips**ts.”

Jennifer Aniston makes controversial comments about actors

To this, Aniston got emotional, giving her opinion on Hollywood today and insulting working movie actors in the process: “Whoa. Oh, that just gave me chills. I’m a little choked up. I feel like it’s dying. There are no more movie stars. There’s no more glamour. Even the Oscar parties used to be so fun….”

This excerpt from the interview quickly made its rounds on social media, and while many are simply laughing at Aniston for her comment, others are straight-up angry she’s tearing down the many talented actors starring in big movies each year. Over on Twitter, users are responding to the interview by sharing some of the best movie stars of our generation, including actors like Anya Taylor-Joy, Timothée Chalamet, Margot Robbie, Saoirse Ronan, Zendaya, and others.

Others are pointing to the possibility that Aniston just doesn’t understand social media or the current culture of fame, while others are taking deep shots by saying she was never a movie star anyway. And some are saying it’s odd Aniston has this opinion when there are more people of color starring in big movies than ever before.

In any case, this really isn’t a good look for the actress. But I doubt she cares. She’s said comments like this before, and the title of the Allure Magazine interview is literally “Jennifer Aniston Has Nothing to Hide.” It’d be very surprising if she responded to all the criticism she’s getting right now.
