The beautiful Jennifer Aniston is one of the most recognizable names and faces in the industry. She’s proven just how talented she is in both comedic and dramatic roles. She really can do it all! We’re so lucky to have such a talent, who continues to produce so much impressive work.

The Friends alum has had amazing success onscreen. While that’s the case, unfortunately sometimes it’s hard for some of us to remember that celebrities are just like us. And like everybody else, the actress has experienced challenges in her personal life over the years.

The 53-year-old had a tough childhood with her parent’s divorce (she was even estranged from her mother for years), has experienced two divorces, and faced another hardship during her life that she’s never opened up about until now.

Jennifer Aniston opens up on trying to get pregnant

In a new interview with Allure, Aniston shared that she was trying to get pregnant for years without success. It was during her late 30s and 40s when the actress was trying to have a baby.

Jennifer Aniston’s “challenging” IVF journey

For so long, the media would put out the narrative that the star didn’t want kids because she was too busy with her career. She told Allure:

"I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed."

There were also stories saying she and ex-husband Justin Theroux (the two are still very close) divorced because she didn’t want kids. The actress said “it was absolute lies” and now she doesn’t “have anything to hide at this point.” Aniston told the magazine:

"I’ve spent so many years protecting my story about IVF. I’m so protective of these parts because I feel like there’s so little that I get to keep to myself. The [world] creates narratives that aren’t true, so I might as well tell the truth."

The actress shared that she now feels like she’s “coming back into the light” after doing a lot of personal work on herself to heal from the overall challenges in her life, including her childhood. She knows she’s a “constant work in progress,” and is happy to be that way.
