Douglas was in full pout mode on today’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. Prior to finding out his father called CPS and framed Brooke for it, his biggest problem had been Thomas’ insistence that he delete his voice manipulator app from his phone. Now that he knows the truth, Douglas’ mood has tanked so hard that his family members have taken notice.

They think, however, that he’s concerned about his grandma Brooke and is having a hard time being happy for his grandparents, Ridge and Taylor, because of this. Honestly, had Douglas remained in the dark, he likely would have been excited for them even if he still took a moment to acknowledge Brooke’s feelings. It’s just he knows this whole situation is based on a lie so it’s taking the wind right out of his sails.

The little man got to go to Forrester Creations for the day to shadow his dad at work. That’s something he’s wanted since the preview and now it’s been tainted. Poor Douglas’ conscience might just be the bane of Thomas’ existence because his strong-willed son isn’t one to hurt people like this, though I also should note he seemed to have no problem trying to pull Hope away from Liam so she could be with his dad.

Yes, what Thomas has done is wrong. There’s no arguing against that fact. But perhaps if Thomas wants Douglas to keep quiet, he should ask the child how far he’d go to put his own parents together. Currently, we’re sitting at emotional manipulation and cutting Liam out of the equation but that doesn’t mean Douglas couldn’t end up following his father’s example one day. After all, it’s becoming more and more clear that this particular apple hasn’t fallen that far from the tree.

Here’s the full run down of the episode.

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful today?

Thomas dialed the aggression back considerably since yesterday’s growly episode ending. A good night’s sleep will do that for a person and, since it’s a new day on The Bold and the Beautiful, he and his son have gotten the opportunity to sit with their clash of wills.

But, while Thomas has calmed down, Douglas sulked the whole episode. It was the kind of sulking that only a child can do. To be fair to him, Thomas was still trying to convince Douglas that faking the CPS call wasn’t wrong. He even went with argument that this is a “complicated and adult” situation but his son shut him down again. I howled. Thomas is losing this fight and he’s losing it badly.

At the office, Douglas wasn’t much better. He brought the mood down with his vibe. Before the two had arrived, Ridge, Taylor, and Steffy were celebrating Tridge’s engagement. Donna, who looked like she was going to be sick over the news, wasn’t enthused and Eric was trying his best to be diplomatic.

When they told Thomas, he was over the moon just like his sister. Douglas, however, bowed his head. The adults all noticed and when asked if he’s happy for his grandparents, all he could say was that he was thinking about Brooke’s feelings. They sympathized but it didn’t burst their bubble. Steffy asked how he felt more than once though so I suspect if there’s anyone who Douglas confesses what he knows to it’ll be her.

In a moving display, Taylor asked Steffy to be her matron of honor and Ridge asked Thomas to be his best man. Douglas observed it all. The happiness all of them showed. His grandfather’s restrained reaction that still allowed for his congratulations to Ridge and Taylor. Noticing this, as they sat on the couch away from the hubbub, Thomas changed tactics.

Instead of trying to persuade Douglas that he didn’t do anything wrong, he told his son to look at the joy lighting up his grandparents and his aunt’s faces. He said it showed how much better this will be for their family. They’re Forresters and they’re finally back together. That’s likely not going to be enough to keep Douglas from talking, but he was listening to what his father had to say.

Meanwhile, at Logan Manor, Brooke had been telling Katie that she’d yet to give up on her relationship with Ridge even though they don’t have much of one now that the annulment papers have been signed. She explained that she’d only signed them because it seemed to like Ridge needed that from her.

What Brooke needs, however, is communication and Ridge isn’t giving that to her. She’s asked multiple times why he’s doing this and he refuses to give her anything beyond it having to do with her treatment of Thomas. She shared with Katie that’s what’s leading her to believe that her ex-husband’s son had a hand in the end of their marriage.

Brooke was under the impression that she’d have time to persuade Ridge to see her side of things and open up to her. But, when Donna walked in bearing the bad news of Tridge’s engagement, her hopes were dashed. She’d literally just said that Ridge had always told her that only one of them needed to keep the faith that their love could stand against anything and the other would catch up and soon see that, too.

Katie tried reminding Brooke that Ridge and Taylor aren’t married yet, but her sister had already been knocked for a loop by this engagement. She realized that Ridge wanted an annulment so that he could marry Taylor and, while Katie said that wasn’t necessarily true, we know Ridge had Taylor’s wedding dress ready to go. He designed it himself. He also had the ring and they both agreed that they shouldn’t waste time. The Logans don’t know this but they plan to marry the following day.

This storyline seems like it’s speeding to its finish line and Brooke is getting left in the dust. There’s still time for the tables to turn, but if Douglas doesn’t speak up soon or Thomas doesn’t come clean, Ridge and Taylor could get married not knowing the truth. If that happens, I doubt Ridge will be able to just up and leave his best friend even with this new information.

She’d be his wife once more and Taylor already made it clear this will be the last time that she marries Ridge. He’s not getting another shot at this, not after she already told him that she can’t take him leaving her for Brooke anymore. If Ridge thought it hurt when Taylor dismissed him when he went back to Brooke the last time, he’s not going to want to see the person she turns into if he makes her live one of her worst fears yet again.

Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
