What time does the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade begin? (2022)
Time has been flying this year and somehow we’ve made it to Thanksgiving week! The temperatures are getting colder in parts of the country and I can already smell the turkey and stuffing that awaits many this Thursday. Across America, people are more than ready to spend time with their families and do all of their yearly traditions that the holiday brings.
Of course, part of the Thanksgiving schedule for many is checking out the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade bright and early on Thursday morning. It’s always so fun to sip your coffee with your loved ones as you watch the amazing New York City event. Although it seems fun to attend in person, it’s so much cozier from the comfort of your couch!
If you’re planning to watch the parade this Thursday and want to be sure not to miss out on any of the action, you’ll need to know what time it officially begins! Here’s when and how to tune in, as well as what you can expect this year!
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2022 start time
According to the official Macy’s site, the parade kicks off in Manhattan, New York City at 8:45 a.m. ET this Thursday, November 24. If you’re watching from home, it’ll start at 9:00 a.m. ET on NBC or streaming live on Peacock. The televised event will go on until 12:00 p.m. ET!
Once the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is over, there’s more entertainment for you and your family to enjoy while you’re peeling potatoes and getting the stuffing ready. The National Dog Show will air on NBC at 12:00 p.m. ET, featuring approximately 2,000 dogs!
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2022 floats and performers
We can expect some awesome floats and performers this year at the Thanksgiving Day Parade, but there are a few I think you should really look out for. Per Macy’s site, Stuart the Minion will be high in the sky, coming in at 40 feet long! Netflix character Ada from
Ada, Twist, Scientist
will also be featured, and she’s a whopping 51 feet tall. Grogu, a.k.a. Baby Yoda from
The Mandalorian
, will return this year which we know Star Wars fans will love.
As for performers, Adam Devine and Sarah Hyland will be singing their hearts out to promote their upcoming Peacock show
Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin
, and Grammy Award winner Dionne Warwick is also expected to perform. Check out

We can’t wait to celebrate Thanksgiving with one of our favorite holiday events on TV!
