When does Yellowstone prequel series 1923 premiere on Paramount+?

Paramount Network’s Yellowstone is a very popular series, and the show debuted its fifth season on Nov. 13, 2022. Now, fans of the show are excited about another chapter in this story! Yellowstone‘s prequel series, 1923, is coming to Paramount+ very soon!

The upcoming show explores the Dutton family’s origin story, the streaming service shares. We’re going to be introduced to patriarch Jacob Dutton and matriarch Cara Dutton. The tale will see the early twentieth century when the people of the time faced pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression, according the streamer.

This is the franchise’s second prequel, as the limited series 1883 previously premiered its 10-episode season in December 2021. Like both its predecessors, this next installment is created by Taylor Sheridan, who is also behind Paramount+’s newest addition, Tulsa King starring Sylvester Stallone.

When does 1923 premiere on Paramount+?

1923 premieres Sunday, Dec. 18 on Paramount+ for U.S. and Canadian viewers. It will then drop on the platform the next day on Monday, Dec. 19 for those in the U.K. and Australia. To celebrate its premiere, the show’s first episode will also air on television on the Paramount Network following the new episode of Yellowstone that week.

According to Deadline, the series will have two, eight-episode seasons. It doesn’t seem like all the episodes of the first season will drop at once. It’s more likely installments will be released weekly. We’ll know for sure on premiere day!

The series is executive produced by Sheridan, John Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari and Ben Richardson.
