Disney films truly have a special place in our hearts and so whenever there’s an adaptation or special event to celebrate a production, we definitely get excited! One that’s coming is a tale as old as time. But it will forever be one of our favorites! Be on the lookout for Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration coming very soon.

The two-hour event will be an animated and live-action reimagining of the classic story. It will include all-new musical performances, sets, and costumes that will transport us to the enchanting tale. But don’t worry! There’s also going to be the songs we all know from the animated Disney film performed in front of a live audience.

2022 marks the 30-year anniversary since Beauty and the Beast was nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. The film was the first animated feature to be nominated in the category. A very impressive feat indeed!

Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration is set to air Thursday, Dec. 15 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The special will then be available to stream on Disney+ the next day.

The cast lineup is also very enchanting! H.E.R will play the lovely Belle while Josh Groban takes on the role of her Beast. Joshua Henry plays the villainous Gaston and Rizwan Manji is his ever-loyal sidekick LeFou.

Those in the castle are Martin Short as Lumière, David Alan Grier as Cogsworth, Shania Twain as Mrs. Potts, and Leo Abelo Perry as Chip. Jon Briones will play Maurice, with Rita Moreno will take on the role of narrator.

Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration airs Thursday, Dec. 15 on ABC. The special will be available to stream the next day on Disney+.
