Who’s guest hosting The Daily Show when Trevor Noah exits?

The behind-the-scenes team at The Daily Show are hard at work right now trying to find a replacement host for Trevor Noah. The South African personality has held the position on the Comedy Central series since September 2015, having taken over for Jon Stewart.

Showrunner Jen Flanz serves as writer and executive producer on the satirical news television program. Dan Amira, Lauren Sarver Means, and Daniel Radosh also take on writing duties, with Jill Katz and Justin Melkmann executive producing.

The late night host announced his departure at the taping of his Sept. 29, 2022 episode. From the sounds of it, he’d like to return to standup comedy. We definitely can’t fault him for that! He’s a true talent as both host and comedian.

While the series works to find a replacement, we can expect to see quite a few stars take his place for a while.

Who’s guest hosting The Daily Show when Trevor Noah exits?

Comedy Central announced a total of 10 guest hosts who will be sitting behind the desk until the popular series finds a new host. This is definitely a great group of stars and comedians who are sure to make us laugh! We’ve shared the full guest host list below:

  •  Al Franken
  • Chelsea Handler
  • D. L. Hughley
  • Leslie Jones
  • John Leguizamo
  • Hasan Minhaj
  • Kal Penn
  • Sarah Silverman
  • Wanda Sykes
  • Marlon Wayans

According to Deadline, most of the guest hosts will each take a seat for about one week. The series will return with new episodes and with the new hosts beginning Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023. Noah’s final appearance is set for Thursday, Dec. 9.

The cable channel also said the show’s correspondents and contributors will also take a turn with hosting duties. We’re not exactly sure who that means yet. It could be those on the current news team – Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, Desi Lydic, Dulcé Sloan, Roy Wood Jr., Lewis Black and Jordan Klepper.

The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on Comedy Central. Episodes are available to stream the next morning on Paramount+.
