There are many holiday iconic figures and characters we always see during Christmas time. Some of these include Rudolph, Buddy the Elf, and Frosty the Snowman! Just reading Frosty’s name makes many of us start singing the jingle “Frosty the Snowman, was a jolly happy soul!” If you feel like adding the Frosty the Snowman movie to your watch list, we share where you can stream it. How many Frosty the Snowman movies are there?

Frosty the Snowman

First, we have the 1969 animated Christmas TV special by Rankin/Bass Productions, Frosty the Snowman. This is the first time the character is introduced, and, you guessed it, Frosty was an instant hit. The special aired on the CBS network after a showing of A Charlie Brown Christmas. To watch it, you’ll need to rent or purchase it on VOD.

Frosty’s Winter Wonderland

It wasn’t until 1976 that we see Frosty again in the standalone sequel Frosty’s Winter Wonderland. Jackie Vernon reprised the role of Frost. In this movie, we meet Jack Frost, the antagonist and a character we all know very well today. Despite the title of the movie, it takes place after Christmas and never does mention the holiday. Just like the original, you’ll need to pay to watch this one, or check out AMC as the network will be airing the special ahead of Christmas.

Rudolph and Frosty’s Christmas in July

Rudolph and Frosty’s Christmas in July is the third installment featuring Frosty. It premiered in 1979 and was filmed in stop-motion style, just as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was. This is also the longest feature with Frosty, running 97 minutes long. Once again, Jackie Vernon returned to give Frosty a voice. To watch it, you’ll need to rent or purchase it on VOD.

Frosty Returns

Later, in 1992, Frosty Returns came out. And in this half-hour special, everything was different. From the voice of Frosty, his physical appearance, the humor, you name it! John Goodman is the voice of Frosty in this special. To watch it, you’ll need to rent or purchase it on VOD.

The Legend of Frosty the Snowman

This 2005 movie when straight to video release and the character is voiced by Bill Fagerbakke, who also voices SpongeBob SquarePants’ Patrick Star. The Legend of Frosty the Snowman can be a standalone movie, as it features new characters and there have been some changes to the original story.
