Taylor Sheridan’s television empire is about to expand once again. The Yellowstone creator is heading back to the days of Prohibition for his Paramount+ series,1923.

Serving as a prequel to Yellowstone, 1923 follows a new generation of the Dutton family in Montana. Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford star as Cara and Jacob Dutton, the matriarch and patriarch of the Yellowstone ranch. Conflict is on the horizon with the arrival of Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton), a powerful businessman who bought the neighboring range next to the Duttons. In the explosive trailer, a range war breaks out between Whitfield’s men and the Dutton family.

1923 features a large ensemble cast that includes Sebastian Roché as Father Renaud, James Badge Dale as John Dutton Sr., Michelle Randolph as Elizabeth Strafford, Darren Mann as Jack Dutton, Marley Shelton as Emma Dutton, Brian Geraghty as Zane, Robert Patrick as Sheriff William McDowell, Brandon Sklenar as Spencer Dutton, Jennifer Ehle as Sister Mary, and Jerome Flynn as Banner Creighton.

With 1923, this marks the third show in the Yellowstone franchise, along with Yellowstone and 1883. Additionally, Sheridan created two additional series on Paramount+: Mayor of Kingstown, a prison drama starring Jeremy Renner, and Tulsa King, a crime drama starring Sylvester Stallone.

1923 season 1 will have eight episodes that will stream on Paramount+. The first episode premieres on December 18. Furthermore, the episode will run on the Paramount Network following Yellowstone, which will air its seventh episode of the fifth season on Sunday night.1923 will air at approximately 9:21 p.m. ET, but make sure to check your local listings.
