Horror movie Evil Dead Rise release date, trailer and more

Horror movie buffs, you’ll be excited to know that the iconic Evil Dead franchise is getting another addition! Evil Dead Rise is coming to a big screen near you next year. Are you ready!?

Franchise star Bruce Campbell won’t be appearing onscreen this time around, but he is taking charge as a producer behind the scenes, Collider reports. Lee Cronin takes charge behind the cameras as director.

This is the fifth film in the franchise, which was created by Sam Raimi. Its predecessors are The The Evil Dead (1981), Evil Dead II (1987), Army of Darkness (1992), and Evil Dead (2013). There’s also a short film called Within the Woods, as well as a television series that ran from 2015 to 2018. The show was called Ash vs Evil Dead. There’s so much content in the franchise! Evil Dead Rise release date

The Warner Bros. Pictures film is set to make its theatrical debut on Friday, April 21, 2023. It’s not known whether the movie will be released on streaming at a later date.

Evil Dead Rise synopsis

The production company shared the synopsis, and it seems the main characters will be facing another Deadite:

"Moving the action out of the woods and into the city, Evil Dead Rise tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable."

Warner Bros. has released two official trailers. The first is a red-band one (more mature content), and the other is a green-band trailer (appropriate for all ages). Check out both videos below:

Actress Alyssa Sutherland takes on the role of Ellie, one of the estranged sisters. Lily Sullivan will play Beth, who is the other sibling. Here is the full cast list:
