Is Thursday Night Football on tomorrow, January 12?

After 18 weeks, the NFL regular season has come to a close and the postseason has finally arrived! With the regular season in the books, the playoffs officially begin this week as 12 of the 14 teams who secured their place in the postseason take to the field in hopes of keeping their season alive.

For its Super Wild Card Weekend lineup, the NFL had lined up a series of must-see games fans won’t want to miss as the playoffs kick-off. As is always the case in the postseason, you never know who might walk away victorious as there is nothing like a good upset to shake up the playoff picture.

Across the days ahead, some of the best teams in the league will go head to head in hopes of making it to the Divisional Round of the playoffs. The games are set to unfold across a series of days but will the action be kicking off on Thursday night?

Is there a Thursday Night Football game tomorrow?

If you’re hoping to enjoy some football this Thursday, we have some bad news for you. There will not be a game airing on Thursday night this week as the NFL has opted not to schedule a Thursday Night Football game as part of its playoff schedule for Super Wild Card Weekend.

Why isn’t there a Thursday Night Football game this week?

The reason there is no Thursday night game this week is due to the fact that the regular NFL season has come to a close. While Thursday Night Football is part of the regular season, there aren’t typically playoff games hosted on Thursday night. Instead, those games typically are played on Saturday and Sunday — with the occasional Monday night game added to the mix from time to time.

With the playoffs having arrived, we won’t see any more Thursday night games this season but Thursday Night Football will return in the fall when the next season begins!
