I guess that’s why they call it the blues. Do we think Elton John was talking about Monday? I think he was. Like we do each and every week, we’re sharing all the new Netflix movies and shows debuting beginning the week of Jan. 16, 2022.

How does Netflix stay afloat as much as it does as the number one streaming platform? Easy answer the amount of diverse content that it drops weekly. If you look at just this week alone, you have a brand new series that will hit all ages, an anime show for those fans, and a cooking show for those who love them, and they got it all. It’s a brilliant strategy by their team in how they roll things out.

New Netflix movies and shows to watch this week

  • That ’90s Show, Jan. 19
  • Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre, Jan. 19
  • Bake Squad (Season 2), Jan. 20
  • Bling Empire: New York, Jan. 20
  • Represent, Jan. 20
  • JUNG_E, Jan. 20

I wasn’t a massive fan of the That ’70s Show, but I loved bits and pieces of it. However, seeing the original cast return with a new crew simultaneously, we could be in for a real treat. The series is set in 1995 when Leia Foreman is off to visit her grandparents for the summer when she bonds with a bunch of new people. The trailer brought some great intrigue that set the tone for what we could be in store.

You could put the word “Bake” into a series title, and I will 100% watch it every time. I am not sure there is a cooking show I haven’t watched on Netflix. We have the return of Bake Squad, which sees bakers battle to win over clients. I am more excited about this than any show debuting this month.

From our suggestions, what will you be watching? Are you excited about the new show That ’90s Show? Or will you be checking out Bake Squad with me? Let us know, and let’s hope next week brings us more Netflix additions.
