Fox renews The Simpsons, Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers for more seasons
Animation fans can breathe a sigh of relief. After waiting on bated breath, Fox has decided to renew The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers for two more seasons each.
While it might seem a bit obvious, the company’s acquisition by Disney didn’t give much of a guarantee. Considering how beloved these three animated TV series are, it’s nice to know we’ll be enjoying them for at least a few more years.
Looking back, it’s nice to know that at least 2 of the original Animation Domination offerings are still going strong. While Bob’s Burgers is the new kid on the block, the series has exceeded expectations, including a feature film released in 2022.
Coupled with the network’s renewed focus on animated programming, it’s good to see the big three getting more time to tell stories.
Fox renews The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers for 2 more seasons
TVLine was one of the first outlets to break the news which included a statement from the network: “With this trio of renewals, we celebrate excellence in animation on Fox, our wonderful, long-time partnership with 20th Television and the brilliant creators and incredible voices behind these forever favorites.” As you can see, the network is really paying homage to these three shows for everything they’ve accomplished.
If you’re curious to know, this means that The Simpsons is renewed for seasons 35 and 36 while Family Guy is renewed for seasons 22 and 23. As the youngest of the trio, Bob’s Burgers is renewed for seasons 14 and 15. Regardless, each of these shows has proven to find its own audience and legions of fans.
On the whole, this isn’t all that surprising as The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers have all been fan favorites for years. It’s even more apparent with the release of The Bob’s Burgers Movie last year and even some merchandise being featured on Disney’s website.
Regardless of which show you enjoy or if you like all three, it’s nice to know we’ll all be getting two more seasons to help round out Animation Domination. We also know that The Great North has been renewed for another season. Personally, I’m excited for more Bob’s Burgers but I’m happy to know the entire trio is coming back.
