Shows to stop watching 3: 90 Day Fiance

When 90 Day Fiance first started, it was done in a good way. We got to learn more about the K-1 visa process, and we saw couples who had actually spent some time getting to know each other before deciding to get married.

Then the franchise grew. It became a way for horrible people to get noticed on TV. Just look at Angela and Big Ed. They are toxic people and yet TLC keeps giving them more airspace.

If you want to get rid of these types of people from the screen, it’s time to stop watching the franchise. Make it clear that these types of people don’t make good celebrities.

Shows to stop watching 2: My 600lb Life

Okay, now don’t get me wrong; I see the benefit of a show like this. Seeing people get the help the want and need is important, and I love that TLC has opened the door for some people through a series like this.

The problem is it opens these people up to far too much ridicule. We already have enough fat-shaming in the world. Do we need more of it as we watch people attempt to lose hundreds of pounds? Not everyone has quite the right mindset to do it the first time. That doesn’t make them terrible, but shows that they need to get into the right mindset to find success. They’re not going to do that with hate from social media.

Shows to stop watching 1: Sister Wives

Is there really any need for Sister Wives to keep going? Kody Brown is no longer in a polygamist relationship with four women. Only Robyn is left by his side. Once one wife got the courage to leave, the others who were unhappy followed.

This type of show just gave this one man far too much airspace. He’s already got a huge ego, and the things he does isn’t with his whole family in mind.

Now, let me say, I have no judgment for those in polygamist relationships. Nor do I have judgment for those in ethical non-monogamous relationships. There is a slight difference between the two. Each to their own. However, everyone needs to be in the relationship for the same reason, and that hasn’t been the case with Kody for a long time.
