Tension rose today on The Bold and the Beautiful in more than one storyline! After some hedging, Hope finally told Thomas how she feels about him and the difficult position she’s been put in with her line. She also got somewhat emotional when the conversation turned to their son, Douglas, and she stopped their talk abruptly because she couldn’t handle speaking with Thomas any longer.

Elsewhere, Steffy’s growing concern over her mother pushed Brooke to go check on Taylor. It seems that was a wise decision as she found a bottle of pills and a passed out Taylor at the beach house. But did Taylor attempt suicide or is this all going to turn out to be a misunderstanding? All we can do is speculate right now, but I believe it’ll be the latter based on what we saw in the episode.

Here’s the full recap of events.

What happened today on The Bold and the Beautiful?

Hope and Thomas continued their conversation about his potential return to Forrester Creations to work on the Hope for the Future line. She entertained their discussion and didn’t seem too put out to converse with her former work partner but then Thomas pushed his luck. Don’t worry, I don’t mean romantically.

Thomas told Hope that their partnership is one of the best at the company, in fact, it’s his belief that it’s one of the best in the fashion industry. Together they complete Hope’s vision for her line and they push the envelop. It’s why he’s been pushing so hard to be brought back into the fold. He also made a good point that what he’d done personally that disrupted their family (that wasn’t any different than the other nonsense these characters get up to) shouldn’t have affected his job security.

Hope understood his position, but she doesn’t think it’s a good idea to allow him to work on her line. She finally brought up the conversation she had with Steffy about integrity and what her line stands for morally. Giving Thomas yet another chance goes against what she’s supposed to be about and it could do more damage than having an okay line that Eric and Zende create for her.

It’s obvious she prefers Thomas’ designs, but she wants to give this new team-up the opportunity to find its footing. At this point, Hope’s tired of going out on a limb for Thomas and then being disappointed. His promises and his word doesn’t mean anything to her anymore. Not to mention, his real focus should be Douglas.

The two briefly talked about their son and Hope mentioned that they needed to have a real talk about how things were going to be moving forward. But when Thomas tried to open the discussion further, after saying he hasn’t called Douglas because he didn’t know what Hope would say about it, Hope panicked a bit.

Seemingly overwhelmed, she shut their line of conversation down and told Thomas what she wants is for him to leave. And that’s exactly what he did, choosing not to argue once more that he could talk to Steffy if she had gotten into Hope’s head. Earlier she’d admitted that it was Steffy who put her on the correct path when she’d wavered and began to consider rehiring Thomas. But she stood firm in her decision to tell him no.

Considering how thei conversation went, I’m concerned Thomas’ next move could end up being retaliatory but we’ll have to wait and see.

Did Taylor attempt suicide on The Bold and the Beautiful?

Speaking of concern, it appeared Taylor had been writing out a confession last episode but that’s not what it looked like to Brooke. The Logan had come to see Taylor at Steffy’s request.

The two had finished up their conversation at the cabin, but it didn’t bring much comfort to Taylor’s daughter. She truly can’t believe she’s living in a world where Brooke of all people could be the one who gets through to her mom but that just might be the case.

When Brooke went to Taylor’s beach house, she knocked and didn’t get an answer. She peered through the window but didn’t see her friend in the living room. She tested the lock and realized Taylor hadn’t secured her place which is a big no-no with Sheila a free woman.

After entering the house, Brooke picked up the tablet on the table and read what Taylor had written. All together, it came off like a suicide note since she’d written that this all needed to end. Add that to the bottle of pills Brooke found on the table as well and it’s not a good picture.

She went running to Taylor’s bedroom and was alarmed to find her passed out on the bed. The episode ended before Brooke went over to see about Taylor, but should we really be worried? I don’t think so. Taylor is emotionally distraught and her mental health is shot right now, but that pill bottle still had plenty in it. We only saw her take one and we don’t know if they were sleeping pills.

This scare, however, may prompt Brooke to want to stay close to her friend. Steffy already expressed that she didn’t like Taylor being at the beach house all by herself but her mom won’t come live with her for a bit. Finn consoled her as she gave him a rundown of what she’s been dealing with and how she’s requested Brooke’s help.

Whatever happens, Taylor clearly does need support and if she won’t take it from her daughter then Brooke is definitely going to have to rise to occasion. Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
