Have you heard the news? There’s going to be another Toy Story movie! In a surprising announcement, apparently Toy Story 5 is officially in the works.

Disney CEO Bob Iger shared the news during the company’s quarterly earnings call with investors, according to ScreenRant. And not only is another Toy Story film coming. We’re also getting Frozen 3, as well as Zootopia 2.

So why is this happening? The fourth film really seemed to be a good way to end the story, and it certainly felt like a final film. By the end, Woody, Bo Peep, McDimples, Caboom, Bunny, and Ducky stick around with the carnival. And the “Lost Toys” decide they’ll travel with it to help prize toys find their own homes. That means Woody had to say an emotional goodbye to his longtime friends Buzz and the rest of the gang who stay behind with Bonnie.

Well, it kind of comes down to money. ScreenRant shares that Iger said Disney needs has a goal of saving $5.5 billion, but that unfortunately meant letting go of 7,000 employees. But to help with the loss of money and to make more, the CEO is “capitalizing on its iconic billion-dollar franchises,” the news outlet shares. And the Toy Story franchise has certainly been a big hitter for the entertainment company.

So who is going to voice Buzz? You’d think there’s an obvious answer, but we know why some of you Toy Story fans are asking this question. We’ve got the answer for you below!

Toy Story 5: Will Tim Allen or Chris Evans voice Buzz Lightyear?

Great news! If you were hoping actor Tim Allen would reprise his role once again to voice the iconic Buzz Lightyear, then that definitely seems to be the case. In a tweet, the actor confirmed he would indeed be back as the spaceman toy! Allen has lent his voice to the role since the very beginning of the franchise in 1995.

So why are we asking this question? It’s because in 2022, Disney+ released an origin story film for the character, Lightyear. And for whatever reason that none of us understand, the company chose actor Chris Evans to voice the character instead. We have nothing against the lovely actor, it just really doesn’t make sense to most of us why Allen wasn’t chosen to voice the character that he’s voiced since the very start.

Well, we’re going to put that behind us now. The OG star is going to play Buzz once again in Toy Story 5 and we couldn’t be happier. To infinity and beyond!
