Of course the Super Bowl is all about football and celebrating the end of yet another season in the sport. And this year, we’re going to see two great teams go head-to-head in the championship game. Get ready for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles to take to the field!

And while the athletes do that, they (and us!) are going to get a bit of a break at halftime to enjoy a special artist taking the stage – Rihanna! While football is entertaining, the Halftime Show performances are always a great extra treat to have at the event.

With such a huge stage and presence, how much do artists get paid as they volunteer their time to do this? After all, you can’t forget the countless hours of rehearsals and overall prep work when it comes to putting on such a large-scale show!

Do Super Bowl Halftime Show performers get paid?

So how much do Super Bowl Halftime Show performers get paid? The answer may surprise you! They don’t even get paid a dollar. That’s right. Any Halftime Show performer who takes part is paid absolutely nothing.

So why is that? Artists who accept the offers are in it for the exposure. There’s millions of people who watch the game every year, both in person and from home. Singers will sometimes do the show if they have a new album coming up and this is part of their promotion. With Rihanna accepting this year, does that mean we’re finally getting a new album from the popular star?

Rihanna hasn’t released any new music since 2016. The only exception is “Lift Me Up” for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film in October 2022. But in terms of her own single or album, the tunes have been silent. And we definitely miss her music! The singer has been focusing on her other business ventures (good for her!), but hopefully this is a sign that we at least get one new song out of our fave!

And while the National Football League (NFL) doesn’t pay artists, they do cover travel expenses and any other costs to put on the around 15-minute Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show. We’re so excited to see Rihanna perform once again!

The Super Bowl LVII is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023 on FOX. Get ready to jam out with Rihanna at the Halftime Show!
