Is Ridge leaving The Bold and the Beautiful?

We’re not that far into 2023 but it’s understandable that soap opera fans are wondering, “Is Ridge leaving The Bold and the Beautiful?” The last we saw of Thorsten Kaye on the CBS Daytime Soap, his character had fired his son, Thomas Forrester.

To recap, Thomas had committed fraud by posing as Ridge’s wife at the time, Brooke Logan, and placing a call to Child Protective Services using a voice cloning app that allowed him to sound like her. His scheme was designed to drive a wedge between his father and his stepmother who despises him…and it worked!

Ridge left Brooke, started things back up with Thomas’ mother Taylor, and had every intention on marrying her up until Thomas’ deed was revealed thanks to his own son, young Douglas Forrester. The consequences for his actions weren’t exactly swift, but it did result in his firing which took place in an episode that aired Dec. 26, 2022.

Viewers haven’t seen Ridge since. Does that mean the soap is moving on without him? Here’s what we know!

Is Ridge leaving The Bold and the Beautiful?

Update: March 11 – Soap She Knows reports Thorsten Kaye will return to the soap on Wednesday, March 15.

No word has been given about Thorsten Kaye departing The Bold and the Beautiful, so this looks like its a schedule break for the actor. Yes, that does mean that Ridge hasn’t been a part of two major storylines so far–Sheila’s release from prison and the revived custody struggle over his grandson–but that doesn’t mean he won’t be returning at some point.

We’ve occasionally gotten updates on Ridge’s whereabouts so far in 2023. He’s still on a mission to find himself after breaking the hearts the two loves of his life, Brooke and Taylor, who’ve washed their hands of him romantically. And, while he has been informed about Sheila’s freedom and told not to come home because he’d just make things worse, he could be sitting out of the story for a bit longer.
