Is John Wick 4 the last John Wick movie in the series?

We’re so ready to continue the neo-noir action thriller story of John Wick! Be sure to mark your calendars for Friday, March 24, 2023 when John Wick 4 makes its official theatrical debut. We can’t wait to see the film on the big screens!

Of course our leading man and titular character Keanu Reeves will be back to reprise his role as the professional hitman and assassin. Also returning are Ian McShane as Winston, Lance Reddick as Charon, and Laurence fishburne as The Bowery King. There’s also a whole host of new additions, including Bill Skarsgård as Marquis.

We’ve been on the John Wick journey since 2014 when the first film was released. Now that we’re four chapters in, will there be more story to tell following John Wick: Chapter 4?

Is John Wick 4 the last John Wick movie in the series?

As of February 2023, we don’t have official confirmation on whether a fifth production is in the works at the movie’s production company, Lionsgate.

In August 2020, Jon Feltheimer, who is the company’s CEO, announced a John Wick 5 was being developed at the same time as the fourth film. The original plan was to shoot both movies back-to-back. But in March 2021, Lionsgate decided to just focus on John Wick 4. And since that update came out in 2021, we haven’t received new news on whether the fifth film is still a go.

The John Wick movies are a major success, and it seems Reeves is still up to continue the franchise. If the fourth film does well, which we’re pretty sure it will, then I don’t see a reason why Lionsgate wouldn’t move forward with their initial plan. But until we get official confirmation from the studio, we’ll just have to wait and see.

While we wait on that news, we do know that a spin-off movie is in the works, which stars Ana de Armas! Ballerina will feature the legendary hitman, as well as McShane reprising his role.
