The Last of Us episode 7, “Left Behind,” is a primarily a flashback episode that introduces viewers to Ellie’s best friend, Riley Abel. We’ve seen in her snatches of memory before but this episode gives us an extended look at the two’s relationship back when Ellie was a cadet preparing to become a FEDRA officer.

Riley was on that path, too, until she snuck away to join the Fireflies, putting her and Ellie on opposite sides of the conflict. Their connection, however, didn’t break and they spend the episode exploring the abandoned mall in the Boston QZ that Ellie referenced in episode 2, “Infected.”

If you’ve seen the preview for “Left Behind,” you know what starts as a fun trip turns into a nightmare as the girls encounter one of the Infected, putting their lives at risk. Riley’s played by an actress you’re likely familiar with due to her starring role in another HBO hit series and a feature appearances in film as well. Here’s what we know about her!
