School Spirits has made its debut on Paramount+. The teen paranormal series led by Peyton List (Cobra Kai) tells the story of Maddie Nears, a teen girl who’s been declared missing but who is actually dead. She finds this out when she wakes up in her high school’s boiler room with no memory of what happened to her and has to come to the realization that her life was taken from her.

The first three episodes of the show premiered Thursday, March 9 and viewers can expect weekly releases of subsequent episodes into April. As we’re on this journey, we’re going to become quite familiar with Maddie’s school, Split River High, as that’s not only the site of her murder, but she also can’t leave its premises. That’s right, Maddie is trapped in high school. Talk about a nightmare.

Fortunately, she’s not the only teen ghost walking the halls as she’s but one of several who died or were killed on school grounds. It’s these ghosts, who are a part of a support group led by the singular teacher in their number, that’s set to help Maddie deal with her untimely death and help her get to the bottom of her murder.

We’re sure you’re wondering if Split River High actually exists. Here’s what we know including where School Spirits was filmed.
