The Oscar nominations are in, and one film we’re not surprised is up to potentially win is Women Talking starring Claire Foy. This movie really does deserve the recognition!

The production is nominated for two awards – Best Picture, as well as the writing of Sarah Polley for Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay). The writer also directed the movie, which is based on the novel of the same name by Miriam Toews, and the true event that happened in the Mennonite colony in Bolivia.

Following eight main characters, who are all women, the drama tells the story of a difficult decision they all have to face – do nothing, stay and fight, or leave. The group discovers mothers, daughters, and sisters in their isolated religious community have been raped by the men living around them. What decision will they make?

With its Oscar buzz and important storyline, you might be wondering where you can watch the movie online.

Where is Women Talking streaming? (2023)

We come bearing good news for anyone wanting to watch Women Talking ahead of the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 12. For this weekend only (March 9-March 12), the drama is streaming for free on Amazon Prime Video with a subscription to the service. According to Forbes, however, the movie will then be removed on Sunday night.

If you miss it this weekend, you can also watch the drama online via on-demand on platforms like Prime Video, YouTube, and Apple TV — you’ll just need to pay a fee to watch the film rather than being able to watch the movie via a streaming platform such as HBO Max, Netflix, or Amazon Prime.

As it’s an Orion Pictures-produced project, which is a production company owned by Amazon, there’s a high chance the production will stream on Prime Video again at some point. But this is just a guess as there’s been no official confirmation from the company yet.

The film stars Foy as Salome, Rooney Mara as Ona, Jessie Buckley as Mariche, Sheila McCarthy as Greta, Judith Ivey as Agata, Kate Hallett as Autje, Liv McNeil as Nietje, Michelle McLeod as Mejal, Ben Whishaw as August Epp, Frances McDormand as Scarface Janz, August Winter as Melvin, Emily Mitchell as Miep, Kira Guloien as Anna, and Shayla Brown as Helena.

Women Talking is currently playing in theaters. A full list of this year’s Academy Award nominees can be found on the Oscars website.
