How to watch the 95th Academy Awards (Where to stream online)

Last year, CODA took home the highly-coveted Best Picture win at the Academy Awards. Jessica Chastain was recognized as Best Actress in her role as Tammy Faye Bakker in The Eyes of Tammy Faye, while Will Smith won Best Actor for his role as Richard Williams in King Richard (despite the Chris Rock incident).

With those highly-deserved wins, what could the 95th Academy Awards bring? Who is going to get the ultimate honor and recognition in the over 20 categories? We’re going to find out soon. Here’s how you can watch the awards ceremony this weekend!

How to watch the 95th Academy Awards (Where to stream online)

The 2023 Oscars will be broadcast live on ABC. You’ll need to tune in to the three-hour show on Sunday, March 12, 2023 starting at 8 p.m. ET. If you have cable, then no problem! You can watch the ceremony on TV, or sign in to ABC with your cable provider online to watch.

However if you don’t, there are some other options for you. Unfortunately, there’s no direct platform streaming the show live. Your best bet is to either use DIRECTV Stream or fuboTV. Both services offer access to the ABC channel live and a seven-day free trial. So if you don’t want to commit to their prices, you can just sign up for the trial period to watch the Oscars, then cancel afterwards. Two other great options are YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV. YouTube is offering a two-week free trial, which works as well!

The ceremony will be available to stream on Hulu the next day (Monday). But if you were hoping you could rely on Hulu + Live TV, which usually included ABC in the past, some of you won’t be able to tune in. That’s because in select cities where Sinclair Broadcast Group holds ABC distribution rights, the two companies couldn’t come to an agreement. As a result, Hulu pulled the ABC channel off its Hulu + Live TV in the cities effected.

So the bottom line is, some viewers will be able to watch the Oscars live using Hulu + Live TV, while others can’t. Be sure to check if you have access to ABC before the big night!
