The Last of Us season 2 cast: Who’s in and who’s out?

March 19 is the first Sunday without a new episode of The Last of Us, and it’s always that first week without our favorite series that hits the hardest. Are there any new updates on The Last of Us season 2? There has been a lot of speculation on who will return and which new characters we will meet.

The Last of Us season 1 featured nine intense and emotional episodes. And though an episode count of nine is an odd choice, we believe in quality over quantity. Now, if you are not caught up just yet and still need to watch the season 1 finale, head on over to HBO Max to stream episodes 1-9 to avoid bumping into spoilers online.

The first season of the HBO hit series concluded on March 12, so it is far too early to know any details about season 2. For starters, we don’t even know the release date. Our best guess is mid to late 2024, but that is only based on the amount of time there usually is between seasons. We wont’ know until closer to the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024. Of course, we will keep you posted as soon as we learn any details!

Since the HBO hit series is based on a popular and successful video game, fans of the game do believe they have a pretty good idea of who to expect. However, let’s remember that shows based on video games (or books) are not always an exact copy. That said, it’s not an easy guess.

I believe, though, that it’s safe to say Pedro Pascal will return as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Parade confirms that Ramsey will return as the time jump between the first and second game is only a couple of years, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

Gabriel Luna will likely return as Tommy, as well. He survived the first season and Joel and Ellie are likely headed back to his town. Tommy’s wife and other residents will return, too. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we learn more details.
