Yellowjackets, one of the most buzz-worthy shows of 2021, is back for its second season. The popular series became the second most streamed Showtime series of all time behind Dexter: New Blood. With its triumphant return, how many episodes will be in Yellowjackets season 2?

The series is told through two timelines: 1996 and 2021. In 1996, a New Jersey high school girls’ soccer team was flying to a West Coast soccer tournament when their plane crashed in the Canadian wilderness. The girls are on their own as they must adapt to foreign conditions. In 2021, the remaining survivors, who lasted 19 months in the wilderness, struggle to move on from the unspeakable tragedy.

The strength of Yellowjackets is the ensemble cast. Starring as teenagers in 1996 are Sophie Nélisse, Ella Purnell, Liv Hewson, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sammi Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, and Sophie Thatcher. The adult cast in 2021 consists of Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, Tawny Cypress, Simone Kessell, and Lauren Ambrose.

How many episodes are in Yellowjackets season 2?

Season 2, episode 1 will be available to stream starting Friday, March 24, on the Showtime website or app at 12:01 a.m. ET. The episode can also be streamed via Paramount+ with the Showtime add-on. If you want to watch it on the Showtime network, it will air at 9 p.m. EST on Sunday, March 26, 2023.

Season 1 of Yellowjackets contained 10 episodes. However, Uproxx reported that season 2 will have nine episodes. The second season will run from the end of March until the end of May.
