We’re down another season of The Bachelor if you can believe it! Earlier this year, former Bachelorette contestant Zach Shallcross first graced our screens as the lead of the latest installment, and viewers got to find his complicated journey to find true love. Though there were many ups and downs, I think Zach successfully found the one in the end, with the finale airing tonight on ABC. The After the Final Rose special will also air tonight, where Zach will appear to talk about all the biggest moments.

Zach got lucky with a great group of contestants this season on The Bachelor, with viewers loving a handful of the ladies. Fan-favorite contestant Charity Lawson was eliminated after hometowns, but fortunately, we know she’s going to be the next Bachelorette! So who ended up winning this season and getting engaged to Zach in the final moments?

Does Kaity win The Bachelor season 27?

As TV guru Reality Steve had already revealed, contestant Kaity Biggar won this season of The Bachelor. The 28-year-old nurse from Canada was an early favorite of Zach’s, and that’s not surprising considering her kindhearted and sweet nature! Zach did almost mess things up with Kaity last week during fantasy suites week, though. In case you missed it, he broke his “no sex” rule with contestant Gabi Elnicki, and then proceeded to tell Kaity that he had sex!

As you’d expect, Kaity wasn’t excited to hear about it, and Zach made things super tense. But by the rose ceremony last week, Kaity seemed to be in better spirits and accepted his rose.

In tonight’s finale, Zach was then down to his final two — Kaity and Gabi.

Zach had doubts about both of his relationships even up to the finale with only minutes left before he had to make his decision! He couldn’t give Gabi the reassurance she needed, and it started to feel pretty obvious he would pick Kaity. But the fact that he had so much uncertainty up until the final rose ceremony was a little worrisome. Both Kaity and Gabi felt very nervous until the end.

Gabi got out of the car first to meet with Zach, signaling to us watching at home that she would be sent home. She could sense it as well, as she told Jesse Palmer she felt like she knew what was about to happen before walking up to Zach. She explained in her voiceover that she would know if it was her if it was.

Did Kaity and Zach get engaged on The Bachelor?

In the end, Zach chose Kaity, which makes sense. The two have had a ton of chemistry all season and seem to have a lot of common interests. But did they end up getting engaged as well? Yes! We already knew that would be the case because of Reality Steve. In a blog post from Nov. 2022 that he’d been updating throughout the season, he confirmed “Zach is engaged to Kaity Biggar.” This is great news for fans shipping the two!

This season of The Bachelor has been another emotional rollercoaster, as expected. The next season of The Bachelorette starring Charity premieres on ABC this June.
