We have the adaptation of the popular tabletop game Dungeons & Dragons that hit theaters in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Is it worth checking out in theaters? I share my review and let you know.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves follows a charming thief Edgin and his band of misfits as they try to overcome many obstacles to rescue his daughter. The film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Sophia Lillis, and Regé-Jean Page.

The story starts off with us meeting the changing Edgin and Holga, who are imprisoned, and they are going in front of the parole board. Although they are about to pardon them, Edgin makes a move to break them out. Of course, they make it out but realize along the way that their friend Forge has taken over the city.

Dungeons & Dragons movie is predictable and, at times, extremely boring

Look, my expectations might have risen when I saw all the hype on the internet, and maybe, that’s why I came out of this underwhelmed? The story is very predictable, and at times, the movie is extremely boring. Also, the runtime of two hours and fourteen minutes is a massive problem. There is an easy thirty minutes that could be easily been chopped.

That said, there is some good within this film. Chris Pine is brilliant as Edgin with his charming charisma that lights up the screen with his wit and simple perfect smile. Michelle Rodriguez is great with her ability to kick ass and take names. Regé-Jean Page is briefly in the film but has a profound impact that if we do get a sequel, I hope he is in it more.

Overall, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is fun at times, but if they were to make a sequel, I hope they rely more on better action and having the ensemble of the group together more often. I give this a slight recommendation due to general audiences will have fun with this.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is in theaters now.
