What happens to Nina in the FBI crossover?

The FBI global crossover event aired on April 4, 2023 and brought all three teams together from FBI, FBI: International, and FBI: Most Wanted. It was an amazing three-hours of television and really ramped up the tension and drama, especially when it came to one character in particular. What happened to Agent Nina Chase (Shantel VanSanten) in the FBI crossover?

In the crossover event, it followed the kidnapping of an American named David Laporta, who was in Rome with his business partner meeting a client. It started off in Rome on FBI: International, as Forrester and his team struggled with the Italian police and with Jubal Valentine and his team as everyone was having a hard time working together.

While working the case, they discover the abduction is all connected to a terror attack threat led by a Belarus General named Lenkov. He has connections to Russia and Putin. Months prior, he had been at his daughter’s wedding when a drone attack by Ukraine killed all of his men and his daughter. Because the drone was supplied to Ukraine by the U.S., he is now targeting them for attack as revenge.

When the teams find the location where Lenkov is likely holding Laporta, they go on a mission to infiltrate, despite not getting help from Italian authorities. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned as Laporta has already been killed and as they are attempting to stop two remaining mercenaries, gunfire erupts.

Does Nina die in the FBI crossover?

Nina, who is pregnant, had been on the perimeter with another agent when they thought they saw Jubal exiting the building. However, it was one of the mercenaries and he shot Nina before escaping.

Jubal and Forrester rushed her to the hospital, where she remained in critical condition as they continued to work on the case. They also had to figure out what to tell Agent Stuart Scola, who was undercover trying to find out who was trying to buy C-4 explosives that was connected to the terror threat. Scola’s the father of Nina’s baby.

While doctors were not sure she and the baby would survive, Forrester kept an eye on her as the FBI team tried to keep Scola from finding out the truth. Unfortunately, he did find out not from his bosses, but from his contact in the undercover mission. Despite being angry and hurt, he continued to try to focus on the case, even though he did go off the rails and had to be brought back multiple times from going too far.

In the end, both Nina and her unborn son did survive and it looks like they will make a full recovery. The crossover ended in FBI: Most Wanted and as soon as all parties were captured and the bomb was disarmed, Scola reunited with Nina in Rome.

The FBI crossover was intense for all involved and we’re thankful it worked out for the best! We’re looking forward to seeing how the events of the crossover continue to play out for Nina and Scola as they navigate this recent trauma and how it affects their careers and personal relationship.
