The Bold and the Beautiful recap (April 6): Hope fantasizes about Thomas

By the end of today’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, it became clear that Hope protested far too much when Liam lodged a veiled accusation of infidelity at her after walking in on her and Thomas in a compromising position. She’d been adamant that Liam should trust her and was offended at the implication that she might stray when she dealt with his divided heart for years.

What Liam saw was an accident. Thomas tried to tell him, but Liam wouldn’t hear it. He was too furious and concentrated on his rival not touching his wife any longer to listen. In fact, he bellowed that Thomas should get out, he didn’t care that this is Forrester Creations, he needed Thomas to leave. Because he’s growing and trying to be better, Thomas chose not to escalate the situation and left as he was demanded. This left Hope and Liam to hash things out.

Despite Hope’s explanation that she’d been falling and Thomas caught her, Liam wasn’t settled. He gave a whole speech on how this work situation between the two is driving him up a wall and that he doesn’t deserve to walk in on the pair with their hands all over each other. Taken aback, Hope laid into her husband for not trusting her especially when she’s extended trust to him countless times no matter how many times he’s messed up with Steffy.

While true, her response paired with her inability to answer Liam’s question on why she keeps inviting Thomas into her life in spite of all he’s done showed that she was emotionally being backed into a corner. Hope isn’t willing to admit anything about her relationship with Thomas outside of it being a working one, but she also doubled down on his importance to her.

What happened today on The Bold and the Beautiful?

Though Liam sees the Hope for the Future brand as his wife’s legacy, she’s come to see it as her and Thomas’. It’s yet another thing they share so, yes, as she told her husband, she does need Thomas. He asked if they could go home together but Hope declined because it was the middle of the work day and she still had work to do with Thomas. Still angry, Liam left and he didn’t turn around even when Hope tried to get him to stay.

Surprisingly, no one across the hall heard all that arguing though Thomas did fill them in on Liam’s explosive reaction to walking in on him and Hope. After being reassured by Thomas that nothing untoward had happened, Taylor, Steffy, and Ridge supported him and told him that they believe in his growth and progress.

Once again, Thomas thanked them for being there for him in spite of everything and he extended even more gratitude to Taylor for always being his champion no matter what. This led to her family declaring themselves Team Taylor much to her delight. It was nice seeing the Forresters together and for Ridge to apologize for how things went down with the Sheila mission considering all that the threat of being blackmailed put her and Steffy through.

Feeling bolstered by his family, Thomas excused himself because he’s going to work on Hope’s line for as long as he’s able. He hopes that Liam’s reaction won’t put him in a tough position and that he won’t be forced to stop working with Hope, but he’s holding onto the belief that she’l be able to get through to him.

We know Liam and Hope aren’t done arguing about Thomas, but the soap did give her something else to worry about. She had a full on daydream where she envisioned Thomas coming to tell her that they got positive reviews on the new line. One referred to how well they fit together and in response Hope told him that no matter what any one else says, she thinks they can do this, that they do work. Then she leaned in for a kiss.

Hope snapped out of it before their lips met but she was spooked by the daydream. She’d never fantasized about Thomas prior to this and it seems the flashbacks to some of Thomas’ worst moments hasn’t deterred her. Hope doesn’t know what’s wrong with her but I think the rest of us do. Her repressed feelings are coming to the surface.
