The Bold and the Beautiful recap (April 10): Hope is outraged

Hope took her distress over her unwanted feelings for Thomas out on Brooke today. The Bold and the Beautiful dropped us back into the scene with her and Liam while they were in the throws of passion, but once more Hope was struggling to keep her mind on her husband.

She strayed to picturing Thomas as the one with her on the couch and it shook her up so bad that after she and Liam were done, she threw a robe on and beat feet to the main house to go talk to Brooke. Hope gave an excuse about needing to check on her mom, but it was clear that she was freaking out because earlier Liam had asked what had come over her and we all know it wasn’t her husband that was getting her all hot and bothered.

But before Hope could walk in and speak to Brooke, she caught her mom flirting with Ridge in the living room. Brooke was still in her negligee and, though she had thrown on Ridge’s suit jacket, it wasn’t what Hope expected to see. The pair were clearly having an intimate moment even as they sat across from one another and held hands.

Brooke stuck to keeping her pact with Taylor, but it didn’t stop her from teasing her ex-husband and admitting that she wants company. Ridge could have stayed over without the two being in the same bedroom but that would have been too tempting so he went home to Forrester Mansion but not before getting his jacket from Brooke and getting one more look at her nighty.

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful today?

Once Ridge left, Hope came out from behind the curtains steaming mad. She was so outraged that she picked Brooke’s robe up off the floor and threw it at her as she asked what she thought she was doing and what was she wearing.

It didn’t take long for Brooke to realize that all the yelling Hope was doing, about being glad she wasn’t like her and how happy she is with her husband and her family, had nothing to do with what she’d walked in on. Yes, Hope was bothered that it looked like Brooke was breaking her pact with Taylor and was one mess up away from ruining that new friendship, but she shouldn’t have been in tears over it.

Brooke deduced that Hope was freaking out because she’s developed feelings for Thomas. She tried to calm her down by telling her that in marriage obstacles will arise and she just has to work past them and that she can’t lose Liam. Their conversation was interrupted by the man himself and Hope went to Liam, hugging him and telling him that they’d just been talking about how good things were. Obviously, if that were the case, Hope should have looked happy but she didn’t and that didn’t go unnoticed by Liam.

Back at Forrester Creations, Thomas was sketching up a storm and smiling over a picture of Hope and Douglas. He’s proud of the progress he’s made and can’t wait to showcase his new designs. Ridge walked in on him in the middle of working and the two discussed the dress Thomas was designing.

After giving his son a pointer on drawing the eye down, we were treated to a talk about Ridge’s acceptance of Thomas’ return as lead designer and how he didn’t know how he would feel about it but now he’s glad that this decision was made. He is, however, interested in knowing about Thomas’ life outside of work and whether he’s dating.

Thomas managed to sidestep the question by asking Ridge about his dinner with Brooke. Without giving anything away, he said that it was good. Brooke had asked him not to say anything to Taylor, but Ridge is likely going to keep their night close to the vest no matter who he’s talking to. Thomas, however, couldn’t escape a follow-up question about his dating life, so he admitted that he wasn’t seeing anyone and that he’s aware of where he fits in Hope’s world, he’s not going to do anything to jeopardize his standing.

What he doesn’t know is that Hope’s the one fantasizing and worrying about crossing the line. I wonder what Thomas would do if he knew. Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
