Did Succession lay a corporate giant low? That’s the big question coming off of season 4, episode 3, “Connor’s Wedding.”

Logan had been on a flight overseas, so he wasn’t going to make his son’s wedding, the Roy siblings were trying to figure out how to break the news to their brother when Roman got a call from Tom. Apparently, Logan had been found in the bathroom unresponsive and the airplane staff were doing their best to save him, but it wasn’t looking good.

Devastated, and unable to help, Roman, Kendall, and Shiv took turns speaking to their dad after the phone was put to his ear. They didn’t know if it would be their last words to Logan or not, but they each said what was on their hearts. Connor wasn’t present during this and he was told about the situation once the trio got off the phone.

Did Logan die on Succession?

Yes. According to TVLine, Logan died on the airplane as it was turning back to come home. His heart stopped and his breathing. Once the plane arrived, he was declared dead.

If you were wondering if Logan’s death is a fake out or a “gotcha” that will get changed dramatically due to some kind of scheme he’s running, don’t hold onto hope for that. The character did die in episode 3 of the show’s final season and won’t be rising from the dead.

In an interview with The New York Times, Brian Cox spoke on how this loss will inform the plot moving forward.

"It does change the stakes. The main protagonist is gone. And the kids are having to deal with it, or not. I think it’s going to be hard next week for a lot of the audience because they’re going to miss Logan. And I don’t think that’s a bad thing — I think that’s actually quite a good thing.Logan was coming to a rest point anyway. He realized that his children were never going to be — he’s got that great line when he says, “I love you, but you’re not serious people.” And I think that is so fundamental. The whole premise is really about entitlement and the rich and the fact that he’s plowed this particular furrow. And the consequences of that plowing are these kids and how [expletive] up they are, not necessarily because of him, but because of the wealth. They all suffer from entitlement in one form or another. And they behave like entitled spoiled brats a lot of the time."

So viewers should expect a heavy episode 4 as Logan’s children deal with the weight of his death and the freefall of the company in the market.
