The Big Bang Theory was such a comedic gem, we’re so lucky to have had it and that it ran for so long. Even though the sitcom went on for 12 seasons, it didn’t feel like it was dragging or the stories were repetitive. We already have one spin-off from the iconic series, and now HBO Max is bringing us another one!

Big Bang started in 2007 and ended in 2019, making it the longest running multi-camera series in television history. At its end it was on a peak being the No. 1 comedy, the conclusion bringing in a total of 17.3 million viewers. Talk about breaking records!

The new spin-off will serve as the second story to be told in the universe, joining prequel series Young Sheldon on CBS. The show starts with a nine-year-old Sheldon Cooper growing up with his family in East Texas. As of April 2023, the comedy is running its sixth season and has already been renewed for season 7.

So what about the new spin-off? What can we expect to see? Here’s what we know so far!

The Big Bang Theory spin-off on HBO Max creative team

There really isn’t much information we know about the upcoming HBO Max series. The company is staying very tight-lipped on details. What we do know is that co-creator of TBBT Chuck Lorre is returning to help the untitled spin-off series once again.

What is The Big Bang Theory spin-off about?

We don’t know what the show is going to be about just yet, and whether it will serve as a prequel or sequel. I don’t see another sequel for any of the characters as basically all of their stories were wrapped up nicely by the end. The one person I could see potentially getting more story is Raj since he never found the one, something he’d been searching for the whole series.

Are the original cast members returning for The Big Bang Theory spin-off?

No cast members, new or original, have been announced yet.

When will The Big Bang Theory spin-off be released?

A release date has not been shared yet.

We don’t know much now, but be sure to stay tuned to Hidden Remote as we’ll be updating this page with news as it comes about the series!
