HBO Max’s The Conjuring series: Everything we know so far about the horror series

The Conjuring universe continues to grow, and this time it is expanding to the small screen in an upcoming horror-drama on HBO Max. From the release date, synopsis, and more, we’re creating this page to note everything we know so far about this project — so keep checking back for updates!

On April 12, 2023, HBO Max announced that a drama series set in the Conjuring Universe is in the works. James Wan, Peter Safran, and Warner Bros. Television are executive producing. The horror-drama is currently in development, so it will be a while before we get any details or images, but let’s start gathering the information we we do know.

What is The Conjuring horror series on HBO Max about?

The Conjuring universe is massive (with even more movies to come), so this horror-drama could follow any of the already released movies or bring another terrifying story to life from the horror files.

All we know at the moment, is that the series is going to be “based on the films produced by New Line Cinema.” Perhaps, an anthology series? Your guess is as good as mine!

The Conjuring HBO Max series cast

It is too early to know who will star in this upcoming project. Who would you like to see appear? Two Conjuring Universe favorites are Vera Farmiga (who plays Lorraine Warren) and Patrick Wilson (who plays Ed Warren). Taissa Farmiga would be another face I’d love to see again. The actress stars as Sister Irene in The Nun and returns in the upcoming The Nun 2. Farmiga is also well known for American Horror Story, so she knows the genre very well.

As of April 12, the series is in development. Casting for the horror-drama has not yet begun, so it’s going to be a while before this project is released. Our best guess is mid to late 2024. Of course, as soon as we learn more, we’ll update this post.
