School Spirits is finally here! The Paramount+ original starring Peyton List is just what we need as we’re craving a new paranormal drama to sink our teeth in. This offering on the streamer also happens to be a murder mystery as List’s character, Maddie Nears, learns she’s been killed and works tirelessly to find out who took her life and why.

Maddie loves a good horror flick, she’s very much into the strange, odd, and macabre but that didn’t mean she wanted to become the star of her own tragedy. As you’ll note while watching the series, horror classics both in the medium of literature and film are name dropped by the characters. The show’s episode titles are also parodies of iconic teen movies and shows.

School Spirits has all the markers of a fantastic teen drama, and we’ll be on this ride with its cast into April as season 1 has an episode count of eight. Viewers can also expect some choice needle drops as well. Teen programming tends to have great soundtracks/song lists and this show is no different even though you won’t be inundated with song after song.
