Twilight TV series updates: Everything we know

Team Jacob and Team Edward fans, rise! Lionsgate Television is quietly working on a Twilight TV series based on author Stephanie Meyer’s books. Needless to say, we’re all freaking out and super excited. Now, do we have a lot of faith this will be a great series? Not at all, but we will be watching nonetheless!

As The Hollywood Reporter shares, this project is in early development. This means this is and idea that has been put into motion, but it is too early to know anything else. That said, the cast and other details are not known, I’m sure this is an ongoing conversation in the studio. Surprisingly, however, we also don’t know where this Twilight TV series will even stream, which is odd. When a new show is announced to be in the works, they at least share where it will stream.

Currently, the movies are not available to stream on any streaming service. To watch them, you’ll need to rent or buy the movie on VOD. That is, unless you already own them, which I’m sure most Twilight fans do.

What will the Twilight TV series be about?

We’re not sure. But THR does note that this will be a “series version,” the keyword here is version. To me, it seems like a movie reboot in series form. So, the same story, but told different. But who knows! It could simply take place in the same universe, but follow another vampire coven. Or, perhaps, focus more on Jacob’s world?

It’s too early to know, but based on knowing that this project is in “early development,” I would expect the series to premiere any time before the year 2025. It could come late 2024, but 2025 feels more safe.

Twilight TV series cast and crew

This is also not known at the time of this writing. Now, I highly doubt the original cast will return, so we may be looking at a brand new set of characters (or reboot).

As for the crew side of things, Sinead Daly is reportedly attached to the script. They are currently deciding on the direction of the series and whether this will be a remake or a completely new story.
