The Harry Potter films are always great to have on hand. You never know when the mood strikes and you feel like giving them a rewatch! One of the most successful franchises in the industry, it’s definitely no surprise they’re still a fan-favorite to this day. So where can you stream the movies?

With a total of eight main films, all adapted by the J.K. Rowlings books, there were many characters and cast members introduced over the years. Though of course, there were those who were constants in all or most of the productions. Those include Daniel Radcliffe as the titular character, Rupert Grint as Ron, Emma Watson as Hermione, Robbie Coltrane as Rubeus Hagrid, Richard Harris as Dumbledore, and Maggie Smith as Minerva McGonagall.

There are a total of eight movies in the main franchise. Those are Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, Deathly Hollows – Part 1, and Deathly Hollows – Part 2. If you were paying close attention, you may have noticed that in February 2023, the films moved from HBO Max to Peacock. But now, they’re not on the NBC-owned streaming service anymore. Why? We’ve got the answer for you below!

Why are the Harry Potter movies not on Peacock anymore?

As of May 10, 2023, all eight of the Harry Potter movies are no longer streaming and on Peacock and have been removed. This isn’t the first time this happens as the platform shares distribution rights with another streaming service. So the two have to “share” the productions, meaning the movies are available to watch on one streaming service at a time. The back and forth has been going on for a couple of years, so it’s likely going to keep happening in the near future. So where did the fantasy productions go?

Where are the Harry Potter movies streaming?

As of this writing, all eight of the Harry Potter movies have jumped back to HBO Max. If you don’t have a subscription to the service, you can do so for $9.99/month with ads or $15.99/month without ads. That means at this time, the main films and its spin-offs are all now streaming in one place once again.

Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, and the reunion special, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts are on HBO Max. Also in some exciting news, the streamer (soon to become just Max) is giving the story the TV adaptation treatment! The company confirmed 10 years of commitment, planning to adapt all seven of Rowlings’ books. And the show of course will be streaming on HBO Max.
